Hey 26ers!

I would like to take this opportunity to convey a deeply important and personal message to our CrossFit community.
"Muscle mass does not always equal strength. Strength is kindness and sensitivity. Strength is understanding that your power is both physical and emotional. That it comes from the body and the mind. And the heart." Henry Rollins wrote this in his essay "Iron and Soul". The words of this essay are the heart and soul of CrossFit 26.
I have lived my entire adult life in pursuit of a strong body, strong mind, and strong heart. Interestingly, it has been my experience developing a strong body that has had the most impact.  Quite simply, the results are cascading.  For every additional pound I am able to lift, my heart and mind are also able to bear additional weight.
With this knowledge comes responsibility. Not everyone is blessed with the means to belong to a gym or have access to coaching  The people at Lift For Life Gym recognize the need to pass lessons of the iron along to children who desperately need this instruction.
Lift For Life Gym offers inner city children a safe environment to develop strong bodies, hearts and minds.  I am compelled to help with their mission. Please join us Saturday March 31, 2012 for our Concept2 Rower Fishing Tournament. All proceeds from this event will go directly to the programs at Lift For Life Gym.
Together I hope we can can make a difference in someone's life and share those lesson in iron that we have been so lucky to learn.

Stay Strong,
E
